Airbnb Now Lets You Book Private Chefs and Personal Trainer

Airbnb is broadening its offerings. Now, customers have access to book the services of a private chef, personal trainers, and a broad selection of curated experiences through the app. The Airbnb experience is part of Airbnb’s plan to provide much more than a stay.

The feature is a part of the “Airbnb Experiences” section offered through the platform. Travelers can now add services, such as at-home massages, fitness workouts, and custom-cooked meal prep, with a few taps away next time they book a stay.

You could bring in a local chef to prepare a private dinner, or a trainer for an early morning workout. The experiences are designed for solo travelers, couples, or groups. This will be carried out in selected cities with plans for roll-outs to additional places.

Airbnb says that the goal is to create more personal and immersive travel experiences. This means individuality and comfort for guests. For local professionals, it’s a new way to earn by offering their skills to travelers.

This fits into a pattern we can see in travel. People are showing more interest in experiences that seem unique and tailored to them. Airbnb wants to help guests live like locals, and they want to do that even if the guest is traveling away from their home for a few days.

This also helps Airbnb further differentiate itself from traditional hotels and rentals. While before you would simply rent a room, today, Airbnb is offering a lifestyle package.

You can plan your meals, your yoga session, or all of the above, in one place. It is a small change, with the potential for big travel changes to your next trip.
