Apple Siri Settlement: $95 Million Payout Approved

Apple has agreed to a $95 million settlement in a class action lawsuit alleging that Siri accidentally recorded private conversations without users’ consent. This Apple Siri settlement could result in payouts of up to $100 per person for eligible users.

The lawsuit, which was originally filed in 2019, relates to the allegation that Siri-enabled devices were turned on by accident and recorded actual private conversations. Contractors were allegedly reviewing these recordings for the purposes of Apple’s quality control program, and while Apple denies any wrongdoing, it decided to settle to avoid continued and expensive litigation.
