Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders: Final Restock Push Ahead of Launch

With the Nintendo Switch 2 about to launch globally, gaming enthusiasts are rushing to secure a pre-order before its June 5 release. The hybrid console has a price tag of $449 / £395 (or $499 / £429 packaged with Mario Kart World), and has seen demand consistently outstrip supply since Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders began last month.
in the U.S., it has been particularly difficult to get a Switch 2, as the initial inventories from major retailers: Best Buy, GameStop, and Target sold out in minutes. There have been some minor restocks, but these inventories have also been small. Fortunately, all three retailers are confirming that there will be more inventory available on launch day, giving U.S. retailers one last shot at getting a Switch 2 without the resellers’ mark up.
On the other hand, UK retailers have had a more steady supply. Even if there was an initial sell-out, it hasn’t taken long to restock it consistently, for a period of time even days at a time the console was available. Also, while many retailers have offered the Switch 2 as a stand-alone console, others have bundled the Switch 2 by game or accessory which does encourage a higher price point and ultimately, could negatively impact demand.
Whether you are in the U.S. or the U.K., the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders window is closing fast. Anyone still sitting on the fence about reserving a unit need to check major retailers closely and be prepared to work fast to lock down future supply.
Stay tuned for further updates as we approach launch day.
