Silent Hill Remake Officially Announced by Konami and Bloober

Konami has officially announced a Silent Hill remake, originally released in 1999. The project will be developed by Bloober Team, known for their work on the Silent Hill 2 remake. This announcement was made during Konami’s “Press Start” digital showcase.

Silent Hill Remake: A Classic Horror Experience

This remake aims to update the visual elements and gameplay of that classic horror experience. While we are still not privy to much information about the project, working alongside Bloober Team indicates that there will be some “psychological” horror elements as part of the game.

The original story was respected and heralded for its masterful atmosphere and superiority of change in its storytelling – the remake looks to maintain a nod to those aspects that made the original great to ensure it resonates with our modern-day market.

No Release Date Yet

We do not have a confirmed release date for Silent Hill 2. Stay tuned, as more information will be coming throughout the year. The franchise’s faithful followers are chomping at the bit to hear more about the project’s progress and features.

Looking Ahead

This remake is part of Konami’s larger plan to resurrect classic franchises. After the success of the second edition, eyes will be on the upcoming Silent Hill project. The development team promises it will be “streamlined,” so you should all see something soon.
