Snapchat Lens+ Subscription Tier Unveiled for $8.99

Snapchat has launched a new Lens+ subscription tier. It costs $8.99 per month. The tier offers exclusive AR lenses and immersive in-app experiences.
The Snapchat Lens+ subscription tier is an extension of the existing $3.99 Snapchat+ subscription, giving users access to hundreds of premium lenses, including exclusive AI video lenses and a Bitmoji Game lens. In addition, new content will be released every week to keep the experience refreshed.
Snap claims this subscription will not put existing free lenses “behind a paywall”, but add more to the existing free and paid offerings.
Lens creators will also soon be able to make money from their exclusive work under the new Lens+ program.
The Snapchat Lens+ subscription tier is part of Snap’s effort to diversify their revenue streams. Since the launch of Snap’s Snapchat+ subscription in 2022, more than 14 million paid subscribers have joined. This subscription effort has contributed to Snap achieving $1.36 billion in Q1 revenue, a 14% gain year-over-year.
Snap also has a Platinum tier for $14.99/month, including ad-free access to both Snapchat+ and Lens+ benefits.
The Lens+ subscription tier signifies the increasing movement toward AR-enabled subscriptions. As Snap plans for AR glasses (Specs) in 2026, building out different AR features becomes increasingly competitive. Lens+ supports hundreds of AR lenses, features new lenses every week, and creator monetization functionality that keeps the most engaged users using Snapchat.
