The livestream brought in viewers from around the globe, streaming via Youtube and the Twitch channel for The Game Awards, quietly one of the biggest reveals of the night was Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, a new kart racer featuring not just Sonic but crossover characters Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5.

The crowd erupted during the trailer, especially when Sonic Creator Yuji Naka came onto the stage and threw shade at Mario Kart World, mentioning Sonic’s new racer would have full crossplay—a feature still absent from Nintendo’s kart simulator!
